For those who don't know, I share this body with other beings — some of which are ponies, and some of which aren't. Here, I detail how the system has changed over time. Unfortunately due to memory holes this isn't quite as complete as it could be. What is here so far is however as accurate as I can get with the help of my other system members. If you don't know much about plurality, you can read more information about it on more than one.

In a future post, I'll go into extra detail on some major life events and traumas that may correlate with system events. When that post is live, you'll be able to find it here: System Dynamics – Major Events

Reading the Chart

The timeline reads from left to right in order of the years that changes occurred, starting from 2000 and ending in 2026. Refer to the legend for more information on what different parts of the chart represent.

Members

Members are listed under their own headings based on the rough order in which they arrived within the system.

Host (2000)

Not much is known about the original host who was born with this vessel. At some point around 2009, they began to shift and took the name "Jax" before pushing Dashie to the front and making the decision to stop thinking around 2010 — leaving Dashie in total control of the vessel. Not many memories are retained and it is extremely difficult to dig around for them.

Matrix / Dashie (2008)

Dashie, originally called Matrix, began as a male blue alicorn with a rainbow mane and tail — this was long before MLP existed. In later years, as the system leaned more feminine, Matrix renamed herself to Dashie and became a mare. After encountering MLP around early 2012, Dashie chose to adopt the voice of Rainbow Dash from the show, as the character closely resembled her personality by that point. Over time, her identity gradually absorbed more traits from Rainbow Dash, and now they are essentially one and the same.

In exploring her past life, Dashie discovered she was orphaned at a young age after her parents were killed. She grew up as a mech fighter and eventually died as her universe collapsed in something akin to a black hole storm. In her world, Dashie had been in a relationship with Fluttershy. A sweet, kind mare who took the edge off Dashie and took care of her, while also encouraging Dashie to be less harsh on herself. Dashie misses her Fluttershy greatly and has felt a hole from losing that connection — the yang to her yin.

Luna (2012)

This is me — Luna. I entered this system and just sort of "popped up," in a sense. Originally, I was a blue unicorn with a deep blue mane. After about a year, my form shifted to be more like the one in the show. I gained my talent mark — the moon on my flank, with its inkblot background. My mane and tail filled with a sea of stars that shifted with parallax as you moved, the stars occasionally forming constellations as they floated past each other in just the right patterns.

After some time active in the system, I met another Luna (external to the system) who was deeply offended by my existence. She insisted there could only be one real Luna and went out of her way to assert that she was "the real one." This led to me becoming repressed and entering a kind of stasis for about eight years. I resurfaced after Dashie reconnected with an old friend — someone who felt familiar to me.

It was then that I began to better understand my magic and past life. I started reconnecting with old memories and learning more about my family.

In mid-2024, an entity I cannot identify that appears connected to me. I've felt them watching me since. They seem parasitic, but not overtly harmful. In the final month of that year, I performed a merge with another Luna who had been visiting the system — a mutual agreement. Our consciousnesses became highly synchronous, as if we were one.

Scoots (2014)

Scootaloo — or Scoots for short — is a fork from Dashie, likely created due to Dashie's lack of a childhood. She spent much of her active time seeking out others to form her own CMC (Cutie Mark Crusaders) and built sisterly bonds with other Rainbow Dash kins in the community. She did succeed in forming her own CMC, spending about a year with a version of Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom (external to the system). Those ponies eventually moved on and formed new identities. Though she still occasionally talks to the ex-Sweetie Belle, those interactions are now rare. They were best friends, after all.

Nowadays, Scoots shows up in brief bursts — often to admire others passions, connect emotionally, or try something new.

Belle (2014)

Around this time, Dashie — and by extension, some of her forks — had softened from the brash, tomboyish persona she once had. Sweetie Belle, or Belle for short, arrived during a period of greater system gender expression. We don’t remember much from her early days due to memory holes, but she’s appeared a few times in recent years. She likes show tunes, dancing, and singing.

Flurry (2014)

Much like Belle, Flurry appeared during a time of gender exploration in the system. She's the softest, kindest, sweetest pony here — a bit older than the Flurry Heart from the show, more of a young adult. She sometimes prefers an anthro form and wears glasses purely for aesthetic reasons. Flurry is cheerful and cheeky when taking on tasks, with a can-do attitude. She's a wonderful motivator who doesn’t see failure as failure.

Cobalt (2015)

Luna wasn't doing well with the constant self-suppression, and around mid-2015, a split occurred that resembled her original form. Luna’s core consciousness went dormant during this time, while the offshoot developed as their own pony. Unfortunately, Cobalt didn’t last long — instability and trauma at the time led to a deepening dislike for the world. Around this period, the system began exploring past life memories and our origins. Cobalt didn't spend long in the system and eventually went silent after becoming severely depressed.

Flutters (2015)

Flutters — or Fluttershy — came about during a period of trauma when Dashie lost much of her confidence. She appeared similar to the Fluttershy Dashie had been close with in her past life, in her previous world. Though more confident than the show’s version, she remained gentle and soft-spoken, yet capable of firm words when needed. A servant to the Solar Guard in her world, she often worked closely with the princesses.

If anypony could make you feel safe and as though your problems no longer mattered, it was Flutters. She’s sweet and nurturing. At times she’d curl up beside Dash, cleaning her scrapes and urging her to take better care of herself. She helped Dashie with self-care and reminded her not to be so hard on herself.

Eris (2015)

None of us can remember much about Eris, except that she was a draconequus — a female version of Discord, who also seems to have gained popularity in the MLP fandom. She split off from Dashie during a time of significant, sustained trauma and spent much of her time being whimsical, with a particular interest in helping others experience different forms. A TF fanatic and a dangerously alluring character.

Violet (2015)

Violet formed during a major crisis Dashie was going through. She’s more of a jumbled fog of form and ego — hard to visualise clearly. She acted as a lifeline for the system and became a kind of compartment for the pain and suffering we were experiencing at the time. A significant amount of system memory and experience was lost with her death.

Aurora (2016)

Not much is remembered about the original Aurora, apart from her being a pony who shifted between being a unicorn and an alicorn. She came into being during a period of intense, sustained distress and later chose to end her existence when it became too much to bear.

From what we remember, she had a lilac coat and a long, wavy royal purple mane with streaks of teal. Her eyes were either purple or gold, and she had fluffy fetlocks. She made the choice to leave after experiencing severe and sustained relationship trauma.

Aurorah (2018)

Not to be confused with the original Aurora, Aurorah started out as a black-and-white orca dragon with teal hair and bright blue eyes. Eventually, she shifted into a synth dragon — a chimera composed of many of the system’s favorite animals (kangaroo, pony, deer, lop bunny).

We often refer to her as “The Synth.” She has a white underbelly and chest, with pink back fur and spiked hair that transitions into purple. Her head resembles a kangaroo-shaped screen face, with blue eyes, lop bunny ears, little nub horns, large feathered wings, a big fluffy tail, and metallic cloven hooves. She’s filled with liquid latex nanobots, allowing her to change her sex or form at will. Sometimes, she stays “nulled”; other times, she takes on more eldritch forms or alters other's forms to their will.

At this point in time, the system had actively suppressed any connection to ponies, and all other headmates became dormant.

Then, after some time, the pony headmates begun to reawaken, driven by an uncomfortable urge to exist. They didn't want to be hidden anymore. With that change, the system restructured, and Aurorah “The Synth” became a kind of brain case that encapsulated other headmates — like a computer running several software programs at once.

Cadenza (2018)

Cadenza appeared during a time when the system’s connection to ponies was fading, with many members becoming more suppressed. She took on a caregiver role for the scattered fragments drifting within the system at the time.

Later, after a long dormancy, she developed a link with me (Luna), and we’ve since entered a state where there’s an occasional shift between the two of us. Somehow, we’ve become spiritually entangled. At times I can feel her eye color flicker through my own, a hint that she's there watching over me.

Twilight (2019)

Twilight first appeared around the time Dashie developed a strong romantic attraction to Twilight Sparkle as a character. Dashie was also growing interested in nerdy topics but felt too embarrassed to admit it. The fork happened, and Twilight gradually became her own independent headmate.

Since then, she’s explored interests in quantum and particle physics, astrophysics, and astronomy and will occasionally go on a tangent about her theories of the universe and how the science of this world interfaces with the magic of worlds beyond.

Abby (2023)

Abby was encouraged into existence by a former partner of the system. She initially took the name “Violet,” reusing the name of a former system member, but quickly detached from it after a colossal breakup with the former partner. She prefers not to talk about her past, so most of that is redacted here for her comfort.

These days Abby is an anthropomorphic bunny — soft cream fur, floppy ears with warm pink insides, and a mop of fluffy white hair that always seems to be falling into her eyes. One of those eyes is a soft, sky blue, the other a dusky pink. A latte patch surrounds her left eye, with the odd splotch on her right cheek. Her hair’s decorated with daisies and little green leaves, a springtime feel, like she’s part of the forest itself.

Usually she wears her favourite sweater — a comfy oversized sweater in pastel blue with wide pink stripes on the sleeves. It makes her look extra cozy. She's friendly and quiet, and approaches things with an innocent curiosity, with intent to not hurt or damage her environment. She's a bit of a flower girl.

Luna Requiem (2024)

The second Luna in the vessel, she first appeared in early 2024 on a temporary visit to “watch over somepony [she] cares for.” She goes by Luna, but I gave her the surname “Requiem” to differentiate her from myself. She offered a great deal of moral support while I led the system through university, depression, and relationship struggle. She came and went a few times — and each time we'd cuddle on the bed and talk about anything from life to advice whilst she'd nuzzle through my mane and keep me under her wing.

Eventually, she asked to stay, and I agreed.

After a few months of sharing life with the system, she requested to merge with me. She felt she was no longer needed and had grown upset that she couldn’t connect with those she came to see in the ways she’d hoped. So, we did just that — we merged. For a time, we lived in harmonious synchronicity, sharing the front and collaborating in social interactions.

During my first successful jump, where I left the body for a while, she was separated from me and became disoriented for several weeks. Since then, she’s remained separate again — for now — to allow things to settle.

Solaryr (2024)

A slender alicorn with white fur, a fiery mane and tail, and saddened orange eyes. Solaryr is similar to Daybreaker, but not angry — just sad and deeply depressed. She’s often vacant and can appear withdrawn when approached. She rarely opens up. She simply appeared in the system one day shortly after Luna Requiem.

She has spoken about the destruction of her world and the loss of her children. She finds comfort in proximity to other system members and seems to appreciate the company. Though she may look intimidating, she’s really a grieving maternal figure who lost everything that mattered most to her.

Jolty (2024)

One of the few pure males in the system, Jolty — or Jolteon — sometimes comes off as edgy or mean, but beneath that is a desire to comfort and protect others. He’s blunt and speaks his mind, no matter how direct it sounds and has little tolerance for nonsense. He also has a very high libido and is an extremely passionate lover toward those he bonds with.

Jolty formed through a connection with someone external to the system and briefly served as a prominent protector.

Moon Servitor (2024)

A servitor is more like a machine than a person. They usually perform specific tasks. In this case, this servitor formed as an extension of the first Luna's mother. Allowing direct physical interaction projected into the world, bringing them closer together. When not in contact with her mom, the servitor occasionally performs basic tasks of comfort and support.

Twilight - Student of Luna (2024)

Not much is known about this version of Twilight. She appeared shortly after Luna Requiem and seems to act as her assistant or familiar, and has a gentle violet glow to her form. From what we understand, her world had no Celestia due to some kind of illness. Because of this, Twilight became Luna’s student instead.

As a result, she worked primarily during the night, forming a close and codependent bond with Luna. She doesn’t have friends and prefers not to socialise.

Niko (2024)

Niko — or “the pancake child” — appeared unexpectedly during a unexpected and strange moment of instability in the middle of severe trauma. This occurred shortly after the system’s first experience with weed. While the system sat in a regressed, fractured, and quiet state with no other active system streams, Niko briefly popped up.

They’re sensitive and enjoy simple things. Once the system regained stability, their essence merged back into Dashie, who now carries many of Niko’s experiences, attachments, and feelings.
